Welcome to Kråkskogen Preschool!
A place where children can grow, learn, and have fun together!
Here at Kråkskogen, we have the privilege of organizing preschool activities in a beautiful old two-story house with a large fenced garden with fruit trees.
The preschool is surrounded by pastures, and in the summer we have cows at the doorstep. We have great opportunities for excursions in the area, where there is both a larger playground and the Svärdens sports field with running tracks and football fields.
At the preschool, we have space for 36 children. Our preschool was founded in 1992 and has been managed by a staff cooperative since 2011. We, who work at the preschool, are also responsible for the activities. The preschool has a director, a preschool teacher, a nanny, administrative staff, a cook, and cleaning staff.

What else can we tell you...
We divide the children into two sections: Eken, which is the upstairs department for the older children, and the Syrénen department downstairs for the younger children. We also have groups divided by age, and the four groups are: crows, magpies, swallows, and sparrows.
In the upstairs department, there are many different materials available for the children, such as magnets, small Legos, puzzles, and various games, dress-up clothes, creative materials, and books for slightly older children.
In the downstairs department, there are materials on the children's floor that they can pick up themselves, such as stacking puzzles, puzzles, games, books, creative materials, Duplo, animals, playhouse corner, different blocks, dress-up clothes, dolls, cars, and pillows.
Our preschool has qualified teachers and trained nannies. Our staff, including our substitutes, receive regular training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation, child accidents, fire protection, safety, and ergonomics.

And finally...
Kråkskogen has its own kitchen where breakfasts, lunches, and snacks are prepared daily. The chefs (different depending on the day) are present in our educational meals and can present the food to the children and involve them in the presentations during the meals. In the kitchen, the food is prepared from scratch as much as possible with organic or local ingredients.
The target group of our food pedagogy is all the children in the preschool.
The goal is to increase the influence, participation, and self-awareness of the children.
- Activity Objectives:
- Make the plate model visible, so that children can see what is on their plate and thus increase their interest in food and their participation in meals.
- Awaken interest and curiosity about food, encouraging the exploration of flavors, textures, and aromas through practical and sensory activities.
- Encourage children to try different dishes and vegetables from various cultures and food traditions, promoting diversity and openness to new flavors.
- Conversations during meals to foster communication, idea exchange, and the building of social relationships among children, creating a positive and welcoming environment during meals.
- Promote children's independence by allowing them to participate in meal preparation, such as washing vegetables, mixing ingredients, or serving food, thereby fostering their autonomy and confidence in the kitchen.
